Introduction

Ice cubes by spray system:

Spraying system main advantage is that very compact, besides that perfectly crystal-clear and pure ice cubes can be obtained. This is very important because the ice cube purpose is to chill without diluting. Ice is produced by spraying water in close circuit onto an evaporator formed by chilled copper little cups where water takes the cube shape, from which authomatically it falls into the collecting bin. The spoon-shaped copper containers are fully tinned in order to grant complete hygiene. Water circulation pump is supplied with steel roller bearings with tiled sealing rings, therefore no maintenance is required.

Ice cubes by paddle system:

This automatic ice cube maker range has been built to satisfy some customers request for machines operating with any kinds of water, even the most calcareous. While projecting this range, we have given efficient patented solutions for automatic control in order to avoid every inconvenience to this ice making system. The final result is the pruduction of perfectly cylindric ice cubes.


Ice flakes:

This kind of granular ice is suitable for fish-shops, bars and ice-cream shops, and for restaurants where fish and crustaceans are served, for clinics and laboratories, etc.. Ice is produced into a verticale cylinder and pushed into the collecting bin by an endless screw. 250 and 500 models are supplied with an optional collecting bin.

AUTOPOL I Polarimeter

This is an entry-level system with a touch-sensitive keypad and a colour LCD display.  It has a resolution of 0.01 Deg Arc with an accuracy of +/- 0.02 Deg Arc. With the "AP" (Advanced Precision) option the resolution would be 0.001 Deg Arc and the accuracy would be +/- 0.004 Deg Arc.  The wavelength would be 589nm which is Sodium "D" line.

The AUTOPOL I is Rudolph's most economical automatic polarimeter designed for education and less demanding applications where the budget is critical, but quality is still important.


Quality

Rudolph manufactures its entry-level polarimeter with the same high quality optics as its more expensive instruments. While other manufacturers in this price range use Polaroid Plastic Dichroic Sheet Polarizers, Rudolph does not. Instead, Rudolph uses the same high quality Glan Thompson Calcite Polarizers used in its high accuracy models (Figure A).

Why are high quality polarizing prisms important? Because prisms are two of the most critical optical components in the polarimeter. Polaroid prisms are made of a polymeric plastic where the molecules are stretched and oriented in a specific direction so as to linearly polarize light. These types of plastic sheet polarizers are very inexpensive ($50.00 USD) and are vulnerable to heat, warp over time, deteriorate from moisture, and also have greater light absorption than Calcite Polarizers. In many cases, the plastic polarizers must be replaced in 3 - 5 years. Glan Thompson Calcite Polarizers are comprised of a carbon crystalline structure similar to diamond and have excellent light transmission characteristics. The quality of these prisms is so good, Rudolph guarantees its prisms over the life of the polarimeter.


Temperature

As shown in Figure B, the Autopol I comes with a Temperature Probe so that sample temperature can be displayed and printed. However, if your product requires Temperature Control, then the Autopol I will most likely not be accurate enough for this type of sample, as is the case for 98% of pharmaceutical applications where a Certificate of Analysis must be issued.

Optional Accessories

The Autopol I is a Single Wavelength Instrument operating at 589nm. The 589nm wavelength is often referred to as the Sodium D-Line. The Autopol I includes a 100mm or 200mm glass sample cell as well as a full range of optional accessories as shown in Figure C.

AUTOPOL II Polarimeter

This is a system which is one step advanced to Autopol I.  Instead of single wavelength, this system would have two - 546 & 589nm.  Apart from that, all the other feature such as accuracy, resolution, repeatability etc. Would be just the same.  With the "AP" (Advanced Precision) option the resolution would be 0.001 Deg Arc and the accuracy would be +/- 0.004 Deg Arc.

The AUTOPOL II is designed as a general purpose automatic polarimeter for budget focused Contract Laboratories, Food Laboratories and College Chemistry Laboratories.
